At Yorkshire Stamp Auctions we take your privacy very seriously and we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our website. We can assure you that we will not sell your details to third parties nor add you to marketing lists unless you have explicitly agreed. In this document we provide you with some information on the types of information we store and what we do with it.

Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how it will be treated by us.

Reason for collecting Information
Yorkshire Stamp Auctions is a Stamp Sales & Auction business. With this purpose in mind, in pursuit of these legitimate interests, Yorkshire Stamp Auctions will control & process information relevant to our business in order to be able to provide professional services to potential and current customers.
Where we store your Personal Data
The data that we collect from you may be transferred to and stored at a destination outside the European Economic Area. By submitting your personal data you agree to this transfer. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this
Privacy Policy.
All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Where we have provided you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. So, whilst we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot ensure the security of your data transmitted to our site. Any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information we will use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorised access.
Data Retention
This will depend on a number of factors, but will centralise around the nature of our relationship with you. For each category of data, we have considered the manner in which we process data against the rights and freedoms of the individual to ensure that we are acting reasonably and proportionately.
Broadly speaking there are two scenarios that will determine the timeframes for retention of data:
Legally/financially - For example, in accordance with standard accounting practice, we will retain finance related data, such as records of payments, invoice details, etc. for a period of 7 years unless, in the unlikely event, there are mitigating factors that allow us to keep data for longer.
Commercially – for legitimate business reasons we will retain data for a reasonable period of time where we may need to contact you in the future.
Use of your Information
We may use information held about you in the following ways:
• to comply with applicable laws and regulations as well as contractual requirements with third parties;
• to ensure that content from our web site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer
• to provide you with information or services;
• to allow you to participate in interactive features of our service where you choose to do so;

Website Cookies
We collect cookies on our website to make sure that we are delivering the best possible experience to you the customer. We don’t gather personal data unless you specifically provide it to us by way of filling in a form. More about our cookie policy can be found here.
Google Analytics
When someone visits https://YorkshireStampAuctions.Com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Mailing Lists
As part of the registration process for our catalogue/updates, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

Terms & Conditions of Business
Buyers’ Information
The highest bidder shall be the purchaser and should any dispute arise the auctioneer shall have the discretion to settle the dispute, re-offer the lot or to withdraw it.
The auctioneer shall rule the bidding and no bid shall be retracted. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse any bids.
The auctioneer reserves the right to bid on behalf of any vendor for any lot and to withdraw it, consolidate or divide any lot or lots.
Vendors are not permitted to bid for their own property
Each lot shall be at the purchasers sole risk from the fall of the hammer and shall be sold with any faults and imperfections. The purchaser is deemed to have inspected the lots and satisfied him/herself as to their condition. All goods are sold with all faults and imperfections and errors of description. The purchaser has the opportunity to view the lots and should do so. The auctioneers will not be responsible for any faults, defects, imperfections or perceived lack of condition or quality. Any illustrations are for identification only.
CAVEAT EMPTOR. The principle of caveat emptor applies to the sale of all goods sold at auction by us. Furthermore, we have no control over the condition of any item offered for sale.
The auctioneer will not be responsible for any loss or damage or injury occasioned to or sustained by any person during the period of the public viewing and the auction sale.
Purchasers are requested to register before bidding and to bid with the number given. A Buyers Premium of 17.5% of the Hammer Price is payable on each lot.
The auctioneers will bid on behalf of anyone unable to attend the sale, Absentee bidding forms are available from the office, online and the sale catalogue. However neither the auctioneers nor its employees shall be liable to either the buyer or seller for any neglect or default or failure in operating the bid. Commission bids should be given to the auctioneers by 6.00 p.m. the day
before the auction sale; bid’s after this time are classed as late.
ONLINE BIDDING
Yorkshire Stamp Auctions (hereon YSA) offers an online bidding service via ‘Easy Live Auction’ (http://easyliveauction.com) for bidders who cannot attend the sale.
Please note that any lots purchased via Easy Live Auction live auction service will be subject to an additional 3% commission charge + VAT at the rate imposed on the hammer price or no commission for the internet bidding if the ‘Flat Fee’ has been chosen at registration.
Payment
Payment is required in full at the end of the auction in pounds sterling, we will not accept cash payments in excess of £3000 (three thousand pounds) for purchases at any one auction. Payment should be made in person, when collecting the items. Alternatively a bank transfer can be made.
Payment by Cheque. All cheques should be made payable to ‘Yorkshire Stamp Auctions’. If payment is made by post please add bidder number or Invoice number to the back of the cheque.
Title only passes to the purchaser once payment has cleared
Once payment has cleared, goods may be collected after the sale on the sale day. All lots purchased must be paid for and cleared from our Market Weighton office by the Friday following the auction. After this period a storage charge of £1 (one pound) plus VAT per day will be levied. If goods are not paid for and taken away within one week of purchase the auctioneers shall, at their discretion deal with the lots as they see fit, including, rescinding the sale, re-selling the lots by public or private sale, the original purchaser will be liable for any shortfall in the second sale and will not be due any surplus. The auctioneers may charge interest on any monies owed.
If an agent or carrier is collecting on behalf of the buyer, they must have written authority from the purchaser.
Failure to comply with any of these conditions of sale or other notices may result in the purchaser’s lots being resold at the sole discretion of the auctioneer either by public or private sale. Any deficiency arising from the sale shall be recoverable from the original purchaser who shall not be entitled to any excess in price on any second sale.
Notes Concerning Descriptions
Please check any saleroom notices or announcements as these override any catalogue descriptions.
All electrical goods (less those that are battery powered) are sold on the basis of their decorative value only and should be assumed not to be operative, it is essential that prior to any intended use the electrical system is checked and approved by a qualified electrician.
The auctioneers shall have the right to refuse admission to its premises or attendance at its auctions or any remote bidding
Yorkshire Stamp Auctions will not disclose your data to anyone else, unless we are required to by law. We may send you information about our goods and services.
Any dispute not herein provided for, shall be settled at the sole discretion of the auctioneer.
SHIPPING
The buyer is responsible for collecting items purchased from the auction. You have until the Friday following the auction to clear items from the auction rooms. After this time storage will be charged.
We can post small and medium sized items (i.e. up to 25kg) by Parcel Force or Royal Mail Track 24/Special Delivery to addresses in the UK. There will be an additional charge for packaging. For larger lots (over 25kg) we suggest you contact Mail Boxes York on 01904 672623.
We do not ship items overseas. If you are an overseas buyer you will need to tell us who you will be using to collect and ship any possible purchases before we will approve you to bid. This may take some time.
